Athletics provide opportunities for personal development, interpersonal relationships, and physical challenges that contribute to the overall school experience of each athlete that cannot be duplicated within the classroom. Additionally, the athletic program builds strong community and sense of school pride.
A major goal of the TVCS Athletic Department is to assist in the development of the student-athlete through the unique and often high stress scenarios that athletics can bring. The relationship between coaches, players, and parents is held in high regard and is viewed as a partnership through each party’s mutual goal of glorifying Christ and growing as a total person.
Coaches are seen as mentors, role-models, representatives of Christ and TVCS, motivators, and experts in their respective sport. TVCS is unique in that many of our middle school and high school teams are coached by previous outstanding athletes and graduates of the school who share the vision, history, and pride of Teays Valley Christian School athletics.
TVCS is a member of the WVCAT (West Virginia Christian Athletic Tournament) and has 16 Boy’s and Girl’s teams, including: MS girls & boys basketball, HS girls & boys basketball, prep boys basketball, MS & HS soccer, MS & HS track, MS & HS volleyball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, golf, and fishing.
