2008-2009 CLASSROOM SUPPLY NEEDS
Note: Backpacks with wheels do not fit well in elementary lockers.
Kindergarten: Crayons (not more than 24), paint shirt or smock, (2) 2-pocket folder, (4) glue sticks (no liquid glue), small storage box, (2) boxes of tissues, (2) boxes of wet wipes, scissors, disposable camera with flash. NO pencils, paper, erasers, or markers.
1st Grade: Pencil erasers, blunt-end scissors, crayons (thin size, no more than 48 count), small storage box, small dry erase board w/ eraser, (1) 2-pocket folder, (1) box of dry erase markers, (3) glue sticks, spiral bound (one subject) notebook, ruler (English and metric), (1) large box of tissues, (1) large box of wet wipes. No magic markers, pencils or colored pencils.
2nd Grade: (3) boxes of #2 yellow pencils, (3) packages wide-ruled notebook paper, crayons, (no higher than 48 count), pencil top erasers, 3-ring binder (no trappers), dry erase markers, (2) 2-pocket folders with holes for binder, small pencil box, ruler (English and metric), (3) glue sticks, scissors, large box of tissues, large box of wet wipes, NKJV Bible. No markers or colored pencils.
3rd Grade: (3) packages of notebook paper, 3-ring binder notebook with front and back pockets, crayons (24), colored pencils, scissors, (1) box of pencils, red ink pen, ruler with metric and English measurements, multiplication cards, glue stick, (2) single subject spiral notebooks, KJV Bible, small box for supplies, dry erase markers, (2) large boxes of tissues, (2) large wet wipes.
4th Grade: NKJV Bible, 2-inch three ring binder (no trappers), (6) 2 pocket folders (either with holes or so that we can punch holes), 1 package loose-leaf notebook paper in package, assignment book, plastic zipper pouch, (4) one-subject spiral notebooks, box of #2 pencils (no paper deco.), colored pencils (8-12 count), crayons (48-count), 3 glue sticks, dry erase marker and eraser, scissors, metric/English ruler, 2 red ball point pens, small storage box, large box of tissues, large box of wet wipes. No markers.
5th Grade: #2 pencils w/ erasers (NO mechanical pencils or lead), (1) package red or green pens for grading, (NO gel or glitter pens), metric/standard ruler, (2) glue sticks, markers, scissors, colored pencils (optional), dry erase markers and eraser, (1) 3-ring binder notebook with see-thru pocket front cover, one package of clear page protectors, (1) package of 3-hole punched tabbed dividers, loose leaf paper (college rule) , (1) package of note cards, pocket Thesaurus, (1) COMPOSITION notebook (NOT a spiral notebook), KJV Bible. (2) large boxes of tissues, (2) large boxes of wet wipes, (1) bottle hand sanitizer.
6th Grade: (2) boxes of tissues, blue or black ink pens and (2) red pens for grading (no other colors for pens), pencils with erasers, loose-leaf paper, (5) loose-leaf notebooks ˝” width (NO trapper notebooks), protractor, compass, ruler (metric and standard measurements), markers, colored pencils, 24-count crayons, KJV Bible, glue stick, scissors, assignment book, three fine point black felt tip markers, “spacemaker” storage box (11x7x2 approx.—no handles) clear page protectors, 3x5 index cards, calculator, graph paper, (1) large bottle hand sanitizer, (1) box hand wipes, (1) wipes refill package, (1) package of dry erase markers, (1) dry erase eraser, dry erase board (11x14 approximately) white-out pen, (1) package (5oz. size) plastic drinking cups, 3-hole punched tabbed dividers.
ART ROOM: (ADDITIONAL FOR ELEMENTARY TO BE USED IN THE ART ROOM, 1st–6th GRADES ONLY) zippered, canvas pouch to hold art supplies, one (1) kneaded art eraser, watercolor paints, colored pencils with basic colors only, crayons, glue stick, pencil with eraser, 1 white out pen, black art markers (one of each of the following sizes: ultra fine, fine, and wide point (Sharpies are okay), (1) 8 ˝ x 11 watercolor tablet, (1) 8 ˝ x 11 drawing tablet for ink. All art supplies should be labeled with child’s name. Other supplies for special projects may be necessary throughout the year.
7th-8th Grade: Assignment book required, loose-leaf paper and notebook with pockets (three-ring binder) or micro-perf notebook (NO spiral bound notebooks for general notebook use), pencils, pens, 3 x 5 index cards, red or green pen for paper checks, bound notebook--single subject, graph paper, calculator (scientific calculator with at least x2 and (square root) keys (a Texas Instruments 83 Graphing Calculator will be required for all classes of math from Algebra I on; you may wish to go ahead and purchase it and keep it through high school), protractor, ruler with cm and inches, a vinyl tape measure with cm and inches, Modern translation Bible such as NIV or NLT, since pencils must always be used in math, a good automatic pencil would be useful.
English 7: Wide-rule notebook paper.
English 8: Loose-leaf notebook with wide rule paper, composition notebook to use as a journal.
Science 7/ 8: Colored pencils, three-ring binder, loose-leaf paper, (4) tabbed dividers, a metric ruler, access to a thumb/flash/jump drive.
Geography 7: Colored pencils
Related Arts 7: Colored pencils, 3-ring binder, 1 large poster board for first day of school, access to a flash/jump drive.
Related Arts 8: Sewing scissors, sewing needles & pins, spool of white thread, three-ring binder, clear plastic page protectors to fit (12 or more), (1) plastic storage box (sweater box size), $5 for supplies.
Grades 9-12: All Classes--Loose-leaf paper and notebook with pockets or micro-perf notebooks ONLY (NO spiral notebooks!), pencils and eraser, blue or black pen, and a red or green pen for paper checks.
Bible Classes: KJV Bible (Access to NIV Bible version may be helpful.), notebook (not spiral), (1) box of tissues, (Bible 9 & 11 students need a composition book; Bible 9 students need 3-ring binder w/ (4) tabbed dividers)
English 9: Composition book to use as a journal.
English 10: (1) 2-inch binder (pocket is helpful), 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 index cards, and dictionary.
English 11/12: 3 x 5 index cards, thesaurus/dictionary, library card, three-ring binder with pockets.
Math (Pre-Alg. Texas Instruments 83 Graphing Calculator (Algebra I and above only),
and above) graph paper, colored pencils, compass, protractor, metric ruler, three-ring binder notebook, loose-leaf paper, and tape measure.
Science 9: Colored pencils, three-ring binder with loose-leaf paper, (4) tabbed dividers, and access to a thumb/flash/jump drive.
Science 10: Colored pencils, three-ring binder with loose-leaf paper, book sleeve.
Physics: 3-ring binder with loose-leaf paper, bound composition notebook for lab—not perforated, access to a calculator.
Biology II: Colored pencils, 3-ring binder with loose-leaf paper, (1) pair of household cleaning gloves.
Chemistry: 3-ring binder with loose-leaf paper, bound composition notebook for lab—not perforated.
Anatomy/ Colored pencils, unlined paper for drawings, metric/English ruler, 1 pair of household cleaning
Physiology: gloves.
Health: Colored pencils.
World History/ Ink pens (blue or black), pencils, notebook paper—NO spiral notebooks, ringed notebook for
US History/ class notes, colored pencils, index cards, and access to flash/thumb/jump drive for student
20/21st Century/ presentation/projects, assignment book/planner to record assignments.
Bible 12
Creative Writing: Notebook with pocket(s) for use as a journal.
Computer/ Each student should have access to a “flash” drive to work on projects away from school. The
Keyboarding: use of “floppies” is not recommended.
Spanish Classes: $1 for white board marker, (1) ˝” binder with pockets and loose-leaf paper, tabbed dividers, notebook or pocket-sized Spanish-English dictionary.
For any secondary class(es) not listed, students should come to class prepared with paper and pencil. Any further supplies will be communicated to students at the start of school.
