About TVCS

With ease of access just off the crossing of Rt. 35 and I-64, TVCS is ideally located in the heart of the bustling Putnam County, WV, between two significant urban centers – Charleston and Huntington.

Humble Beginnings | Big Vision

Teays Valley Christian School was founded by, and housed in the educational wing of The Depot – sponsoring church – in 1979, with 68 students, grades K-8. With a vision for a larger impact, a commitment to excellence, and God’s abundant favor, we have seen steady growth for over 30 years. Presently housed in a state-of-the-art, forty thousand square feet facility, our current enrollment is strong at over 300 students, grades K-12. More importantly than our facility’s size, we have invested in a highly professional staff, technologically advanced classrooms and labs, and are constantly seeking continual improvement in these two domains.

Culture by Design

Rooted in God’s promise given in Jeremiah 29:11, the heartbeat of our school that affects every aspect of our culture within a relational context, is the active support of parents in delivering a biblically-driven college preparatory education in a vibrant Christ-centered community that enables students to utilize their God-given gifts and fulfill their God-given purpose. This is the driving force behind our instructional beliefs, academic program, spiritual life, athletics, and other programs in the school environment.

Students are challenged through the scope of the school program to pursue excellence for the cause of making their call and election sure as they recognize that their own growth (intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational) is not just for their sake, but is important in God’s plan of restoring humanity back to Himself.

TVCS is accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International, the North Central Association, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Over the past few years, graduates of TVCS have earned over a million dollars in scholarship money, including dozens of Promise Scholarship recipients, and two National Merit Scholars. Over 90% of our graduates further their education at the collegiate level. Additionally, several athletic scholarships have been awarded at the Division I, II, and III levels.
